Balliol Rhodes Scholars

The Rhodes Scholarships have been bringing scholars from 14 countries to Oxford since 1902. To date, more than 750, or about 10% of all Rhodes Scholars, have come to Balliol. The History of the Rhodes Trust 1902-1999 (OUP, 2001) is a recent resource edited by Sir Anthony Kenny, Master of Balliol 1978-1989 and Warden of Rhodes House 1989-1999. The current Warden of Rhodes House (since 2004) is Sir Colin Lucas, Master of Balliol 1994-2000. The Rhodes Trust also administers the George Eastman Visiting Fellowship, to which is attached a Professorial Fellowship at Balliol.
