Trophy Inscription Database

Balliol has now indexed its historic blades, pewter trophies and plaques commemorating sporting achievements and indexed the inscriptions on them. The vast majority have to do with rowing, but other sports are also represented. NB this database does not include photographs of people; you can search our photo database here. But it does give links to the trophies, etc.

Search for a person's name	e.g. allan
Search within title	e.g. cricket or four
Search for year	e.g. 1894

The archives and manuscript collections of Balliol College are open by appointment to enquirers in person in their new accommodation at St Cross Church, Holywell.

Enquiries should be sent in writing (email or post) to the Archivist in the first instance.
There is no charge for Archive enquiries, but donations for Archive purposes are always appreciated.
