Scope and Content: Dep. Monckton Trustees 2-6. although including some private and general correspondence, mainly relates to Monckton's work in the Ministry of Information. There is considerable correspondence on public affairs with Stafford Cripps, especially while he was ambassador in Moscow, and Lady Cripps, with Lord Halifax, while ambassador in Washington, and Lady Halifax, and with Ivan Maisky, the Soviet ambassador in London. There are many internal departmental papers of the ministry of information, and general political and government correspondence relating to both domestic and overseas propaganda. These papers are arranged chronologically as follows:
